What is Discovery?

Discovery is an enrichment program for intellectually gifted students in grades 2-8 enrolled in the Lee County School District. It differs from the regular classroom by going beyond the normal classroom activities and offering students a greater latitude of inquiry. The student’s intellect is challenged by providing them with a diversity of learning experiences, including instructional methods, materials and activities.

Discovery focuses on developing skills in the following areas: Communication, Thinking Skills, Research, Group Dynamics, Self-Directed Learning, Creativity, Socio-Emotional, Visual and Performing Arts, and Career Exploration.
