Beta Club

 "Let Us Lead by Serving Others"

The National Beta Club’s mission statement is: “to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.”

The four traits Beta embodies are achievement by recognizing and honoring high academic achievement, character by preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful, leadership by developing the leaders of tomorrow, and service by demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others.

Membership requirements for MHS Beta are:

• 89.5% GPA or higher

• No discipline referrals

• 10 service hours per school year

• Attendance of two club meetings per school year

Students will be invited to join Beta after the first nine weeks report cards are sent home. Students who join will be invited to participate in an induction ceremony in November. Students must pay national (first year of joining) and local (each year of membership) dues to be a member. Students will be placed on probation for a school semester if membership requirements are not met. Seniors who successfully complete the requirements above will be allowed to purchase a Beta stole to wear at graduation.
