Parents and Students of the Lee County School District:
Due to the recent surge of incidents on our campuses involving vape pens, especially those containing THC or other unknown substances, the Lee County School District is now taking a more aggressive stance to eliminate the presence of these dangerous chemicals from our campuses.
Beginning Monday, January 26, 2026, any student found to be under the influence, in possession of, or providing others any drug (including, but not limited to, THC or other mind-altering substances) will face an immediate 45-day assignment to the LCSD Alternative School. The incident will also be reported to local law enforcement.
Consider this a “zero tolerance policy.” If there is any question as to the authenticity of the substance in question, we will consider it banned or illegal and act accordingly.
The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our number one priority.
Respectfully,
Coke Magee
Superintendent, Lee County School District
