After a very competitive application process, Verona Primary and Plantersville Elementary gifted teacher Taffie Ray has been selected as an NEA Foundation 2026-2027 Global Learning Fellow.

The Global Learning Fellowship is a professional development program for educators, centered on deepening students' knowledge of the world around them. Ms. Ray joins a cohort of 50 educators from around the United States that spans all K-12 grade levels in every subject.

The year-long program includes online workshops, in-person meetings, and a capstone project. The highlight is a 10-day international field study to examine the education system, culture, and historical context of another country (in the summer; 2027 location is Peru).
