The Shannon High library club's makerspace team invited their friends in for a taste of Asian food!
The students learned how to make their own teriyaki chicken sushi. They were also treated to fried rice, lo mein noodles, miso soup with tofu, salad with ginger dressing, and spring rolls. For dessert students enjoyed mochi, macarons and fortune cookies! To top it off, they were given a choice of chai or strawberry basil milk tea with boba pearls.
Many of the students had never eaten some of these foods, so it was an eye-opening experience for some!
Special thanks to Maxie Ewing, a Shannon High sophomore, Mrs. Liane Cates of Guntown Middle School and Mr. Brandon Cates of Shannon High School for showing the students how to make the sushi. The club also wishes to thank China Capital for donating the chopsticks, and Mt. Fuji for donating the fortune cookies.
