Plenty of friendly competition at today's Northeast Mississippi Special Olympics Area 11 games! Athletes from schools throughout our district took part in this annual event in Tupelo. Congratulations to all of the winners! 🏅

Mrs. Lancaster’s class learned about Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras! Students compared what the holidays have in common and what makes each one special.








Fresh new cuts for some of our guys! We appreciate Mr. Mark Lamar with Dynasty College of Cosmetology and Barberology along with former SES student Miss Faygan Brooks.









Snow cones to celebrate how amazing our students did on their 3rd 9 weeks assessments!







CATCH Kids provided a dental hygiene program for the students at Shannon Elementary School. Students enjoyed learning about great ways to take better care of their teeth, and they were given dental supplies for home!








We enjoyed a beautiful program celebrating Black History Month. “Songs of Freedom” was presented by our extremely talented students!

Last week was National School Counselor Week, and we celebrated our very own Mrs. Tessa Honeycutt! Students wrote her “love letters” to show their appreciation. Mrs. Honeycutt goes above and beyond to “help our hearts” and guide our thoughts as kids navigate this big world!




December Students of the Month were chosen for being critical thinkers. These students are great at problem solving for themselves, their friends…even their teachers!

Fourth grade ELA classes researched Native American tribes, wrote an informative essay, and created models of various Native American homes. Students also read The Indian in the Cupboard as part of their study. They all did an amazing job!







On Tuesday, December 16, come see all of our amazingly talented Little Raiders spread some Christmas cheer! Wear red, green, or your Christmas gear!

October Students of the Month were chosen by their teachers for exhibiting the characteristics of FRIENDSHIP, which was our Word of the Month. Great job!



The Shannon High Beta Club participated in National Young Readers Week by reading Balloons Over Broadway to Shannon Elementary 3rd graders. The older students then helped the young ones craft their very own “turkey parade float”! 🦃 🎈
