Ms. Lancaster's students have been learning about life cycles of plants and animals. The class recently discussed the life cycle of pumpkins, which included making pumpkin bread! 😋
Miss Emilie with Girl Scouts brought amazing opportunities to SES last week with the Girl Scouts’ STEM LAB on campus! Our girls explored science, math, and technology based activities! Make sure you have your little lady signed up!

From airplanes to iPhones, Shannon Elementary Discovery students got creative with their construction during this LEGO STEM challenge!



Mrs. Lancaster’s class studied physical and chemical changes by baking a cake at school. Students prepared ingredients, patiently enjoyed the cooking process and spread the icing. So much fun! #seswhereamazinghappens




Mrs. Moody’s 5th grade scientists studied changes in the states of matter in THE most delicious way - making their own ICE CREAM! Their faces say it all!

A fun day for third graders! Students just read the book, "Ferdinand."
And who better to teach students about bull riding than Mr. Nathan Sheffield - a REAL BULL RIDER! He showed lots of videos and students even got to try on his gear.




Back to School Bash for parents and students on Thursday, Aug. 22 (4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.) in the Shannon Elementary Gym. Free event with popcorn, snowcones, and STAR data discussion with ELA/MA teachers.

Mrs. Bass and Mrs. Standfield had a great meeting with each grade to discuss classroom/hallway/bus behavior and procedures! Ask your child about the Fame/Lame game!

Arrival / Dismissal Times

🚨 Attention all drivers: School starts this Thursday. Remember to slow down in school zones and always stop for school buses! It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.
Day one back for teachers and staff was a huge success! We were shown so much love, and we appreciate you all so much! Thanks to our PTO for kicking us off with a breakfast bar/snack bar during PD days, Mrs. Katina Oneal for motivating our hearts and minds, Coach/ Mama Jaz/B’Loon Kouture for our adorable back to school balloon arch, First Baptist Church of Shannon for sandwiches, chips, and sweet treats, and Girl Scouts for free snow cones for ALL! Meet the Teacher night was filled with lots of smiles!







Our central office staff welcomed new educators this week, as they get ready for their "first day of school" as a teacher. School starts next Thursday!
