These third graders became surgeons for a day! 🧑⚕️ Mrs. Kloac's class performed "Text Feature Surgeries." Students dressed as doctors and “operated” on Frankenstein to identify and label text features.

Mrs. Kloac’s third grade ELA students at Saltillo Elementary celebrated the first day of fall with a nature walk on the school trail. Students took clipboards to record observations of what they saw and heard—everything from crunching leaves to spotting (and hearing!) a woodpecker.

Fifth grade teachers took a trip to Guntown Middle School to surprise their last year students with rewards for showing growth on their MAAP state tests. Teachers started this tradition last year, and it continues to be a very special trip for our fifth grade staff. Students were so surprised so see them, and everyone had fun celebrating their hard-earned success!

Saltillo Elementary third graders in Mrs. Kloac's room have been learning about September 11, 2001. Through meaningful discussions and activities, students explored the tragic events of that day, the bravery of the first responders, and the kindness and unity that followed in the days after.
