Halloween at Shannon Middle was spectacular! Our students showed up and showed out with their costumes. We held a costume contest and had six lucky winners of Chick-fil-A gift cards. All of our finalists did an amazing job creating unique costumes that wowed us!
It's Red Ribbon Week at Shannon Middle School!
Today we celebrated our Shannon Middle School September students of the month with the help of Reverend Gladney and Johnson Chapel Church! Rev. Gladney and the Johnson Chapel church provided goodies for the students as a treat for excellent behavior and academics for the month! Our students include: Autumn Mosley, Keyasia Garmon, Christopher Blackwell, K’Laysia White, Khloe Lee, Jakylyn Armstrong, Q’Mari Gardner, Rashun Gibson, Ahyona Fells, Elissa Adams, and Iverson Ewing.

The first day of school at Shannon Middle was one for the books! New and veteran teachers engaged their new students with presentations and activities to get them ready for their new academic journey. We cannot wait to see what the 24-25 school year has in store for teachers and students alike!
🚨 Attention all drivers: School starts this Thursday. Remember to slow down in school zones and always stop for school buses! It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.
Our central office staff welcomed new educators this week, as they get ready for their "first day of school" as a teacher. School starts next Thursday!
Reminder to parents/guardians of all students entering 7th grade: A Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121) is required for all Mississippi school children in grades K-12. For ALL students entering 7th grade, the form must show a recent Tdap vaccination.
Shannon Middle School will have registration for our students from 9:00am-2:00pm on the following dates: Wednesday, July 24 - 6th grade; Thursday, July 25 - 7th grade; Friday, July 26 - 8th grade.
Shannon Middle School’s Open House is July 29 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

During the spring semester, members of the Shannon Middle School PTO encouraged students by passing out inspirational bracelets to the student body when they arrived at school. PTO members also provided breakfast and snacks for our teachers in observance of Teacher Appreciation Week. Thanks to our PTO members for their continuous support!
