Shannon High art classes have been working with acrylic paint. As part of the LCSD "Pieces With Purpose" theme for this year, students pondered their purpose by writing a reflection, and they painted personal puzzle pieces that all link together.

This year, Shannon High is highlighting our tennis program during homecoming. The school has invited past tennis champions to take part in the week's festivities, including participating in the school's homecoming parade last night. Retired LCSD principal and former Shannon High tennis coach Don Christian was asked to serve as Grand Marshal for the parade as well.

Meats and cheeses and crackers, OH MY! Students learned about charcuterie this week in an event hosted by the SHS Library Club.


Members of the Shannon High School Choir participated in the 22nd Southern Innovational Conference at the University of Southern Mississippi.





MSU Extension Service visited our campus for a "Welcome to the Real World" challenge. Students discussed income, expenses, budgeting, and overall money matters!










Last week marked 24 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on our country. In commemoration, the history department and library presented a gallery walk with images from that horrific day. Students scanned QR codes with information about the different scenes depicted in the images.

The Shannon High Library Club marked the upcoming final season of Netflix's Stranger Things with waffle kabobs and ST bookmarks for their teachers. (IYKYK!)
Ms. Amanda Tumacder's U.S. History classes have been learning about muckrakers. After classroom discussions, students were assigned current topics to report about in muckraker style, and then they created posters about their findings.
REMINDER: There will be no school on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. Classes resume at normal times on Tuesday, September 2.
