Due to the threat of inclement weather this Friday night, our Class 4A home football playoff game against New Albany will be moved to Thursday night. Gates open at 5:30pm on Thursday, with kickoff at 7:00pm. General admission is $10 at the gate.

Coach Dawson's CCR class welcomed Circuit Court Judge John White, Assistant District Attorney Nebra Porter, and Dierdre Berry from Lee County Department of Youth Services. We thank these guests for spending time with our students!

Shannon High art students have traded their brushes and paint for digital drawing tablets! Digital art utilizes drawing software to render high quality images. Great work!

Big Ideas Mobile Learning Lab made a stop in Shannon! Tenth graders explored possible career pathways through immersive AR/VR experiences and tools like WoodED carpentry tables and Transfr sets.










PBIS hosted a Pink Out Day today for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students and staff were encouraged to wear pink, and pink cupcakes were available for purchase as well.
Shannon High art classes have been working with acrylic paint. As part of the LCSD "Pieces With Purpose" theme for this year, students pondered their purpose by writing a reflection, and they painted personal puzzle pieces that all link together.

This year, Shannon High is highlighting our tennis program during homecoming. The school has invited past tennis champions to take part in the week's festivities, including participating in the school's homecoming parade last night. Retired LCSD principal and former Shannon High tennis coach Don Christian was asked to serve as Grand Marshal for the parade as well.

Meats and cheeses and crackers, OH MY! Students learned about charcuterie this week in an event hosted by the SHS Library Club.


Members of the Shannon High School Choir participated in the 22nd Southern Innovational Conference at the University of Southern Mississippi.





MSU Extension Service visited our campus for a "Welcome to the Real World" challenge. Students discussed income, expenses, budgeting, and overall money matters!










Last week marked 24 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on our country. In commemoration, the history department and library presented a gallery walk with images from that horrific day. Students scanned QR codes with information about the different scenes depicted in the images.
