Basketball is at home this evening against Shannon. 7th grade girls will tip off at 5:00 followed by the 7th grade boys. The 8th grade boys will play before the 8th grade girls this evening. Games are at the high school gym across from the elementary and admission is $5. See you there and go Tigers!!!

Computer Science & Engineering classes at Guntown Middle School have been working on a balsa wood bridge project. Students researched, sketched and then built their models. Way to go, future engineers!

Our CTE classes welcomed Sarah Thomas with Express Employment Professionals and Saltillo High Career Coach Connie Gusmus. The visitors talked about personal and employment skill sets, internships, and more.

Guntown Middle sixth graders learned about fractions using Hershey's chocolate bars and The Hershey's Milk Chocolate Fractions Book by Jerry Pallotta. What a 'sweet way' to learn about fractions and other math concepts!

Guntown Middle 7th graders read the stories, Stargirl and Seventh Grade. Both explore the challenges of fitting in and being true to oneself. Students then created projects comparing and contrasting their own experiences in middle school.

Computer science and engineering classes recently learned about building ships to carry cargo. Students used sheets of aluminum foil to design and construct ships to carry as much cargo as possible. They measured the foil, designed and crafted the ship, and estimated how much cargo it would carry.

Volleyball is at home this evening versus Tupelo!! 7th grade at 5:00 and 8th grade to follow. Games are played at the high school playing gym across from the Elementary. Entry is $5 cash only. We hope to see you there!!

Guntown Middle computer science and engineering classes are using iSTEM kits provided by Ashley Furniture to learn about various types of measurement instruments. They also discussed related career fields.
