Students in Ms. Washington’s seventh grade ELA classes at Guntown Middle School welcomed special guests this week for #ReadAcrossAmerica. Students enjoyed their time spent with all!









Ms. Brenda Sisk with Ag in the Classroom (sponsored by Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Program) spoke to Mrs. Stewart’s class about honeybees. She discussed how bees are so important to our daily living.

Special thanks goes to Ms. Juanita G. Floyd of the CREATE Foundation and author of "Summer of 1969" for delivering a powerful message of love, hope, and kindness! Ms. Floyd spoke to Guntown Middle seventh graders in Ms. Washington's ELA class for Black History Month.

Wes Newton, a student at the University of Mississippi pursuing his Masters in Anthropology, spoke to the 8th grade English classes. His detailed explanations of being an archeologist and pictures of real excavation sites and research in laboratories made their unit "Unexplained Mysteries" come to life for the students.

Students in Ms. Carroll and Mrs. House's classes are learning how some of the products used in space exploration are also used on Earth. They also read "Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed" as part of their space unit.
