
Students in Ms. Washington's 7th grade ELA classes have been covering dialogue, symbolism, and academic vocabulary terms. The students have read several stories and comic strips, discussed symbolism, and ways authors use colors as symbolism to convey emotions and themes.

Mrs. Julia Smith's Computer Science and Engineering classes are full STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) ahead with project-based learning, and students are excited for the new projects to come!

IMPORTANT CAR RIDER CHANGE INFORMATION:
Starting Monday, August 12, the car rider line will no longer go through the Guntown Community Center/Park for drop off or pick up. The City has informed us that you should take Bryson St. to Main St. to Mill St. in order to drop off/pick up. Spread the word and thank you for your cooperation. Our drop offs and pick ups have been running smoothly so far this year so let's work together to keep it rolling!

Beta will be selling Tiger T-shirts Tuesday , August 6, at open house. Prices range from $5-$17. There will be a table in the 6th grade building and Ms. Mauney's room.

Students in Ms. Washington's seventh grade English classes did several 'Getting to Know Each Other' activities last week. One of the activities involved working in small groups to develop a goal for the new school year. The students then created a tableau to convey the meaning of their goals.





🚨 Attention all drivers: School starts this Thursday. Remember to slow down in school zones and always stop for school buses! It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.

Our central office staff welcomed new educators this week, as they get ready for their "first day of school" as a teacher. School starts next Thursday!

Saltillo High School seniors BreAnne Sparks and Katie Nock put their artistic talents to use for a summer service project. This series of canvases will brighten the walls at the Lee County School District Bus Shop. Awesome job!

Congratulations to Guntown Middle Beta Club members Zoey Conwill and Emlianne Owens. They brought home two 1st place awards, a 4th place, and Best in Show during the National Junior Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia. Also pictured are club sponsors Dianne Floyd and Abby Mauney.
